In our three types of auctions we sell around 20.000 items each year. This ranges from furniture, art, design and jewellery to specific collections in every field. Occasionally we also organise thematic sales, such as wine or fashion sales. Whether you are tired of your old artwork or unsure what to do with the inheritance of a loved one, we can help you sell your items with expertise, experience and care. We offer both a national and international stage for objects from every price range.

Do you want to be informed about our auctions and any other activities of Vendu Rotterdam?
Our appraisers use their expertise to evaluate your goods and gladly advise you how to sell them as well as possible.
You can make an appointment to visit us for an auction appraisal during our opening hours (Monday-Friday 09.00 to 17.00). In case of special items or a large collection we also offer appraisals on location.
When you subsequently decide to consign your goods for auction, our specialists will advise you on the right type of auction for your objects.
Vendu Rotterdam adheres to the ethical code of Federatie TMV (Dutch Federation of certified appraisers, brokers and auctioneers in movable assets).
When we have appraised your goods and they appear to be suitable for auction, you can decide to consign them to our auction. Our appraisers will advise you on the consignment of your items for the right type of sale and give an expectation of the possible proceeds. You will receive a receipt in which the goods are provisionally described.
The receipt serves as your contract with Vendu Rotterdam. It serves as evidence of your consigned goods and shows that you agree with our terms and conditions. It also contains your personal consignment number. This number is used for all communication concerning your goods.
After the consignment your goods will be professionally photographed and further research will be conducted by our specialists if necessary. Afterwards the objects will be assigned a lot number and are stored (insured) in our building until the auction. You will receive a written statement of consigned goods including the definitive lot descriptions and price estimates before the auction.
You can always check the status of your consignment in the meantime by using your online Vendu account.
You can arrange the transport of your goods yourself or we can organise this for you. We have worked with the professional transport company Jan den Otter Transport B.V. for more than twenty years. For more information see Transport & Clearing.
For all our auctions we charge a commission of 20% including VAT.
Photo and administration costs
For our General sales we charge a fixed rate of € 5,- per lot for photo and administration costs with a maximum of € 500,-. This rate is excluding VAT.
Art & Antiques / Design auction
For the Art & Antiques and Design auctions we charge a fixed rate of € 10,- per lot for photo and administration costs with a maximum of € 500,-. This rate is excluding VAT.
Hallmarks precious metals
Precious metals should be hallmarked at all times. We will arrange this for you if this is not the case. The costs will be charged to the seller.
You will receive your settlement between 3 and 4 weeks after the last day of the auction. In the meantime, you can always view a pro forma settlement in your Vendu account. This contains the proceeds of the goods per lot number minus the commission costs and any additional costs (see Costs & Commission). The net amount will be transferred to your bank account four weeks after the last day of the auction, if we have received the payment from our buyer(s).
After the auction interested individuals will have the opportunity for a few weeks to buy any unsold lots in the so called ‘aftersales’. We will honour the same price arrangements that were agreed upon in the consignment.
In case some of your goods still remain unsold after this period, you will receive a new sales proposal with adjusted price estimates for our upcoming auctions. There are no additional costs involved in the resale of your goods. If you are not satisfied with our new proposal you can, of course, also decide to collect your goods.
