Vendu Rotterdam is one of the oldest auction houses in the Netherlands. The first establishment of the Notarishuis dates from the French occupation in 1812. After undergoing several transitions, the current Vendu Rotterdam has been situated in the monumental building at the Kipstraat for several decades. Our team looks forward to welcoming you there.
Over the past 200 years Vendu witnessed the development of the city of Rotterdam into a world harbour with its own story. The destruction of the Second World War and the subsequent period of reconstruction characterise Rotterdam as it is now. Our auction house reflects this zeitgeist and developed into a hub for professionals, gallery owners, avid collectors and interested individuals with a shared love of both classical and modern objects. Besides long time experience in the fields of art and antiques, our auction house distinguishes itself with specialised Design sales selling applied art from 1900 to now.
Vendu Rotterdam organises several Art & Antiques auctions, Design auctions, General sales, Jewellery & Watches auctions and Real Estate auctions throughout the year. When the occasion arises we also dedicate sales to specific themes or a special collection and create (inter)national platforms for a wide audience. Furthermore, we offer our expertise for insurance or inheritance appraisals, workshops and other events.
Our auction house contains a team of experts with specialisms including jewellery, paintings, Asian arts and crafts and 20th century applied arts. Besides a high level of in house expertise we make use of knowledge from circles of art historians, collectors and museums. We work with experienced auctioneers and a professional transport company. Our auction house adheres to the ethical code of the Dutch Federation of certified appraisers, brokers and auctioneers in movable assets (TMV).
